The big difference to me between a effective leader and one living in the past is the ability to try new things and adapt to the ever changing reality your business faces. But the next blogging point is a rather interesting, enable random collisions of unusual objects. The largest threats no one sees coming and come from outside the established business practices. Basically the companies that got comfortable with business as usual in the last 50 years years are gone and went out of business.   
    http://zenhabits.net The necessary art of subtraction- this article is interesting in that in leadership what can we simply and or take away, while there is always a fight in my work place between dumbing down and simplying by a manager and expanding and training by me and sort of the wishes of the owner. However, what is implied is removing the unnessary not adding new possessions as that causes debt, and not adding plug ins and clutering your website and or home, as two many options confuse people and then that are less likely to buy or stay on your website, and clutter in your home has to be cleaned, and maintained. Something I can really relate to is to many things learned means that you never learn anything well, in my group class (other one) every week one of the members mentions can we ever focus on one thing for longer than a couple days. This seems sort of the way of program as move through so much material that flushing out one idea that could be used in real if allowed to be developed would produce some amazing results. While I am usually studying a number of things at once and have CE for real estate, and keep on top of wine mags, it seems that this may be something I need to work on. In leadership perhaps the message should be present only what is necessary to lead well and do not muddy the waters with extra choices.
    http://sethgodin.typepad.com/ authority is a excuse for complacency, while sitting in your sit and riding along of just being is what employees do the leaders are the ones that take the blame and "know what to do", authority is sort of controlled by those doing and making articles and changes, as possessions and stuff is less important what is important is the ability to change and stand up and make a different or use the microphone you have as if nothing changes as and the only thing you did was be silent then if is your fault for having given your power away. While this does not seem to be in line with the roles a leader should take on rather they should be the go to person and key player t
